Founder Profile
Dr. Abigail Kyei has always been passionate about the provision of excellent Healthcare Services. She has extensive and rich experience in community health work over her several years of work in public health management and education. She started as a facility-centered nurse and midwife and has worked as a practitioner in the field and on nursing and midwifery programmes in several capacities including advisory, leadership and management.
She is one of the two pioneer graduate nurses from the University of Ghana, where she earned her first degree in Nursing. She holds a Master Degree in Public Health from the San Diego State University, California, USA and a Doctoral degree in Health Administration from the University of Phoenix, Arizona, USA. Her international experience spans through her work with development organizations like DANIDA, JHPIEGO, the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM) and an appreciable deal of her work experience has been in Ghana, her home country, as well as other developing countries in Africa and Asia. Dr. Kyei moved into academia and was the Head of Department of the Nursing and Midwifery Program of the Pentecost University until November 2023. She is also the Immediate Past President of the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives, a position she held until 2022.
Dr. Kyei has a passion to leave the world, in which she operates and influences, in a better state than she came to meet it. Having worked in healthcare all her life, Dr. Kyei is a staunch advocate for ensuring the provision of quality healthcare services to Ghanaians and other nationals. Her passion now is to use her rich experience to help establish and provide accessible healthcare, including homecare services across all ages, as well as maternal and child healthcare, family-centered healthcare, counseling and preventive healthcare.
In private life, Dr. Abigail Kyei is married to Professor Peter Ohene Kyei, and they have 5 adult children, and 6 grandchildren.
